Insurance Agent Found Guilty

A local insur­ance agent was found guilty of insur­ance fraud and theft Wednes­day evening after a two-day trial in Gar­land County Cir­cuit Court and fined $40,000.Tracy Eugene White, 51, owner of White Insur­ance Agency, located at 814 Hig­don Ferry Road, was found guilty of two counts of theft of prop­erty as well as other charges.

The Ben­ton Police Depart­ment (BPD) has iden­ti­fied an aggra­vated assault sus­pect but needs help find­ing him. Ken­neth Wayne Jan­ski, 43, is wanted for an inci­dent that hap­pened at a home in the city on Mother’s Day. The BPD says the vic­tim is a female acquain­tance of Janski’s, but did not say exactly what hap­pened to her. Jan­ski is believed to be in Cen­tral Arkansas area, specif­i­cally Hot Springs or Cabot. Any­one with infor­ma­tion about where to find Jan­ski is urged to call Ben­ton Police at (501) 778‑1171 or (501) 315-TIPS.

The Coali­tion to Pre­serve Arkansas Val­ues said it also opposes a pro­posed ini­ti­ated act to legal­ize mar­i­juana for med­i­c­i­nal pur­poses in the state. The coali­tion is com­prised of the Arkansas Fam­ily Coali­tion, Fam­i­lies First Action Com­mit­tee, Fam­ily Coun­cil Action Com­mit­tee and the Arkansas Com­mit­tee for Ethics Pol­icy, a com­pan­ion orga­ni­za­tion to the Arkansas Faith and Ethics Council.

Police arrested four mem­bers of Occupy Lit­tle Rock as the city evicted the group from its protest site in down­town Lit­tle Rock yes­ter­day. Offi­cers made the arrests shortly before 2 p.m. Wednes­day — nearly seven hours after the group’s per­mit expired.

Q. Byrum Hurst Resolves Lien

A spokesman for 4th Con­gres­sional Dis­trict can­di­date Q. Byrum Hurst says that Hurst has resolved $25,550 in state liens filed against him and is work­ing to resolve a $32,730 fed­eral lien stem­ming from unpaid income taxes.However, the state liens still show up in Depart­ment of Finance and Administration.
